The Data-Informed Media Analysis Suite (DIMAS) is a research and innovation project led by the University of Malta’s Department of Artificial Intelligence. We operate this website to provide AI tools for journalism and to engage with stakeholders.
We process data in two ways:
User Enquiries & Subscriptions: When you use our "Contact Us" or "Stay Informed" forms, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your request or send project updates.
AI Analysis Tools: When you use our news analysis tools, the data you input (text, URLs, or files) is sent to our servers for processing. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored or retained after the analysis is completed and returned to you.
Consent: For our newsletter and "Stay Informed" updates.
Contractual/Legitimate Interest: To provide the analysis results you requested through our tools and to respond to direct enquiries.
We do not sell or rent your data. To provide our AI analysis services, data may be processed via University servers or through third-party AI model providers. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes or to train their models.
Contact/Newsletter Data: Kept only as long as you are opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
AI Tool Input: Deleted immediately after the processing session ends.
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact our Principal Investigator, Dr. Dylan Seychell, at: dylan.seychell@um.edu.mt.
We use only essential cookies for website functionality and anonymous analytics to improve performance. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
